Pera di Fassa

The name Pera di Fassa comes from the Latin "petra", i.e. "stone", and it probably refers to a huge boulder which lies behind a hotel. The town, in Pozza di Fassa town council, lies upon the river Avisio, and enjoys an excellent position according to all those who love winter walks, excursions and cross-country skiing.
Downhill skiers can, on the other hand, exploit Ciampedie skiing area, where you can get to by a cableway with a wonderful view on the valley.
Besides Ciampedie, from Pera di Fassa, in few minutes, it is possible to get to the other skiing resorts of the Val di Fassa- Carezza ski area.
