Ski area Alpe di Siusi
Broad landscapes, sunny and not windy slopes mark Europe’s largest plateau which encourages eco-friendly winter tourism. The Alpe di Siusi ski resort offers a wide choice of downhill runs, a huge cross country trails network, stunning winter paths you can explore with snowshoes or with hiking boots and one of Europe’s best snowboard parks.
Downhill skiing enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice: kilometers of slopes linked through modern and fast lift facilities. Moreover, the Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi ski domain is also part of the Dolomiti Superski carousel which features more than 1,200 km of runs and more than 450 lifts.
The Alpe di Siusi ski resort boasts 80 km of cross country trails, plunged into the wild nature of Europe’s biggest cross country carousel: the Dolomiti NordicSki network.
Those who prefer snowboarding will surely enjoy exploring one of Europe’s best snowboard parks, the King Laurin Snowboard Park: a real paradise for freestylers which is known to be the second best park of Italy for its large area (it is 1,500 m long!) and exciting attractions (boxes, steps, kickers).
For those who love secluded and wild paths but who still want to enjoy skiing, Alpe di Siusi is the place to be, especially for ski mountaineering fanatics. Not to miss the renowned Catinaccio tour: a vertical drop of 1,800 m which will put you literally through the wringer. The superb view compensates for the big effort.
There are also several walking routes and snowshoe hiking tracks: plunged into a snow-capped landscape you can admire enchanting wonders of nature.
The Alpe di Siusi plateau offers also a lot of other outdoor activities, both suitable for youngers and for families. One of these is surely sledding: this exciting activity can be practiced on 7 tracks of different difficulty levels and lengths, all featuring marvelous scenic views. If you like romantic sceneries you should not miss ice skating on the lake of Fiè or a magical horse-drawn carriage tour.
