Ski area Alta Pusteria
The ski resort of Alta Pusteria, situated between the Sesto Dolomites and Braies, is marked by the large selection of winter sports you can practice on its area.
The broad ski area is formed by 7 ski centers and boasts 77 km of slopes: Monte Elmo, Dobbiaco, Monte Baranci, Braies, Croda Rossa, Val Comelico/Passo Monte Croce and Sesto, all featuring well-prepared runs and up-to-date lift facilities. These areas form all together the well-known domain Dolomiti Superski Alta Pusteria.
The cream of the Alta Pusteria ski resort is the wide choice of round trails for those who love cross country skiing in Alta Pusteria: they are in total almost 200 km long and cross stunning natural landscapes around San Candido, Dobbiaco, Sesto and up to Val Fiscalina valley and the lake of Braies. The area belongs to the renowned Dolomiti NordicSki domain and features also some floodlit trails and tracks which have been approved by the International Ski Federation (FIS). Among the sports events you should not miss are the FIS World Cup Cross Country Tour de ski held in Dobbiaco, the Pustertaler Ski-Marathon, the well-known Dobbiaco-Cortina race, the Snowboarding World Championships, the Helmissimo race and the FIS Skicross Worldcup.
Snowboarders will surely enjoy the two Snowboard Parks: the Funpark Tre Cime, placed on Mount Elmo, and the Funpark Rienza. Children can have a lot of fun at the playgrounds, such as the one of Croda Rossa.
Sledding fanatics have to experience the funny Sledding Safari of the Sesto Dolomites: this area is formed by the Croda Rossa, Baranci and Signaue slopes which are linked together by modern lift facilities and which guarantee gorgeous downhill runs.
