Ski area Valle Aurina: Klausberg
The Klausberg ski resort is placed in the heart of Valle Aurina, at 2,500 m of altitude, surrounded by impressive 3,000 m high peaks. Wide choice of slopes and guaranteed snow during the whole winter allow to practice lots of activities, from skiing to snowboarding and ice skating. The awe-inspiring view is a real attraction for adventurers who love snow and mountains.
The Klausberg ski domain is one of the most renowned and esteemed areas of Val Pusteria: it includes 8 modern lift facilities, featuring South Tyrol’s highest cableway, and 21 km of well-prepared ski runs which guarantee lots of fun from December to Easter.
If you prefer cross country skiing this area will not disappoint you: 80 km of perfect trails with different difficulty levels.
Even snowboarders are spoilt for choice: the Snowboard Park Funtaklaus, situated at 2,400 m, is actually the largest and most up-to-date snowboard park of the whole Valle Aurina, a real paradise for freestyle snowboarders. Besides various kickers in different sizes and difficulty levels there are heaps of rails and boxes.
For those who enjoy night sledding, on Tuesdays 7.30 pm – 10 pm you can reach 1,650 m altitude with the 6-seat cableway and sled down for 5 km on South Tyrol’s longest enlightened track.
The Klausberg ski resort also features several winter walking routes and snowshoe hiking trails, whereas Campo Tures and Lutago welcome ice skating fans which can spend some pleasant time in the ice rinks.
Kids will certainly adore the Klausiland Snow Park: here they can revel in the igloo, in the Klausi castle, on the slides or on the witch’s slalom. The park has heaps of toys and safe games for everyone!
