Marlengo/Marling

Marlengo, few kilometres far from Merano, offers to its guests an enchanting landscape rich in contrasts: from the high mountains which surrounds the hollow of Merano to the wonderful sight on the whole area with orchards and vineyards, to say nothing about the beautiful valley of Bolzano.
Marlengo and its outskirts offer peace and tranquillity and they are the ideal destination for families who wish to spend a relaxing holiday far from traffic and stress.
But the town is also one of the favourite destinations of excursionists, lovers of nature and sportsmen, since there are 12 tennis courts, an indoor facility, a rifle range and a soccer field. Many are the places interesting from a historical and cultural point of view which can be visited in Marlengo and in its outskirts:
the old parish church, the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in the neo-gothic style. Buil in 1900, this church is the copy of the church in Selsley, Gloucester). the church of S. Felice, dated 1251, near the irrigation canal at the water spring to which, once upon a time, thaumaturgy properties had been attributed, the historical cellar at the maso Popphof. the private distillery Unterthurner and the private agriculture distillery Lahnerhof. the music pavilion, the house of culture and the library. Among the many castles of the area Castel Lebenberg (dated 1300) is certainly worth a visit. Another good idea is to have a walk along the naturalistic path "Marlinger Waal" (the path along the old irrigation canals). This flat path, 13 km long, is considered one of the most beautiful paths, and it was built in 1737 (and finished in 1756) by the monks of Certosa.
