Campolongo Pass: a holiday dedicated to sports

The Campolongo Pass is a mountain pass at an altitude of 1875 meters on the border between Corvara and Arabba. Together with the Pordoi, Sella and Gardena passes, it forms the famous Sellaronda, a 40 km long ski tour around the Sella Group. This is a favourite destination of Alpine skiing lovers, who have at their disposal state of the art lift facilities and perfect slopes included in the Dolomiti Superski. The Sellaronda Skimarathon, an exciting ski mountaineering pairs competition, takes place during the night on these slopes every year.

In summer the Sellaronda becomes a wonderful trekking trail and, thanks to the lift facilities and the shuttle service, you can start and end your tour wherever you want. The breathtaking landscape and the low difficulty level makes this one of the favourite itineraries of trekking lovers.
The road winding around the Sella Group is known as the 4 Passes Tour and is one of the most beautiful motorbike and bicycle tours. Parts of the circuits were often included in the Giro d’Italia; moreover, the 4 Passes Tour is the most important section of the biggest long-distance bicycle race in Italy, the Maratona delle Dolomiti. Here takes place also the well-known Sellaronda Bike Day, a non competitive bicycle race during which the road of the passes is closed to traffic.

In winter Alpine skiing isn’t the only sport practiced on the Campolongo Pass and its surroundings: here the disciplines range from telemark skiing to snowboarding, and from ski mountaineering to snowshoeing. In summer, besides trekking tours of every level, you can practice rock climbing, motorcycling and mountain biking, but also take pleasure in some less demanding and more relaxing activities, like picking mushrooms, wild herbs and small fruits. In Corvara you find a golf course, a tennis court and a playground.
