Plan de Corones/Kronplatz

Plan De Corones is one of the most appreciated ski resorts thanks to its lift high capacity: chair lifts with 12 and 15 seats, ski tows with 4 and 6 places, artificial snow possibility with granted opening of the whole district from the beginning of December.
The ski area Plan de Corones is made up of 13 localities: Brunico, San Vigilio di Marebbe, the two most important centers, Valdaora, San Lorenzo, Chienes, Falzes, Perca, Rasun, Perento, Monguelfo, Tesido, Anteselva, Valle di Casies.

All August long expert guides make you discover the animal world in the Natural Park of Fanes-Sennes-Braies. The itinerary goes from the Capanna Alpina (Alpine Hut) to the Malga Fanes and from here to the grotto, where in 1987 some cave bear skeletons were found; it was a species that had a predilection for a vegetarian alimentation, and which became extinct 11,000 years ago. Nowadays bears are slowly returning in our Alps, because where men are able to create peaceful oasis for themselves it is possible that also other living being can find life possibilities. And this is surely the case of the area of Plan de Corones, surrounded by the Dolomites, the Aurine Alps, and with the Pusteria Valley in the middle.
A real adventure in contact with different animal species. It is only necessary to have patience and tenacity and you will be rewarded by the sight of pasturing buff flocks on the Braies Dolomites or of whistling marmots.

Through the narrow and wooden valley of Fojedora you reach the Colli Alti Lakes and then, following a clean and fresh stream, the huts of Colli Alti at 2121 meters. Going down through the Forest Valley you arrive at the Braies Lake at 1494 meters, always in a fantastic natural landscape.
