Rodengo/Rodeneck

The village of Rodengo lies in a quiet and sunny position, among green meadows and far from the chaos of the cities.

On a rocky spur, upon the river Rienza the is the Castle of Rodengo, the symbol of the village, built in the far 1140 by Friedrich von Rodank, and later widened by the von Wolkensteins in the XVI century. The castle is particularly stunning thanks to its spectacular posistion as well as to its architecture with the drawbridge, the towers, the walls, the painted internals, the prisons, the armoury room and the chapel of Saint Michael.
particularly suggestive are the frescoes inspired to the saga of Iwein, the epic written by Hartmann von Aue.

The village of Rodengo, protected by the surrounding mountains, enjoys a mild and dry climate and much sun. This is the ideal condition for long walks and excursions through meadows, fields and woods, as far as to the Rodenecker Alm, at 2000 metres, a resort much crowded both in summer and in winter. In the winter season, in fact, the pastures covered with snow turns into an ideal scenery for practising cross-country skiing and long walks with the snow-shoes.

The skiing area Val d'Isarco is a destination the lovers of winter sports, and in particular of skiing, cannot absolutely miss.
