Coredo rises in the centre of the Val di Non, on a sunny plateau, whose slopes are planted with apple trees. Here the tourist attractions of the village combine with the peasant traditions, the phases of nature, the nice view of the apple orchards in bloom in late May and the Autumn picking.
This village looks like a balcony on the Valley, on the Brenta Dolomites and Maddalene Chain. Some Art-Nouveau villas, built at the beginning of the 19th century, give evidence of its ancient tourist tradition. The historic centre gravitates on the square, where you can visit the Neo- Renaissance church, built between 1943 and 1948. The small "Madonna Addolorata" church (1861) contains a Baroque altar of great value. There about there is Casa Marta, a house in Venetian style (16th century). The well-known "Palazzo Nero", a crenellated building and former jurisdictional bishop's see that dates back to the 15th century, offers interesting frescoes of courtly tradition illustrating Genoveffa di Brabante's sad vicissitudes: she was a French queen, punished as an adulterer. In 1614, a trial took place in the courtyard and ten persons, accused of witchcraft, were burnt at the stake.
Nowadays Coredo castle is in a bad state - however, it was already mentioned in the 12th century. About 3 km away from town, on the way to Taio, there is Castel Braghèr, one of the best-preserved manors in Trentino. It is still lived in and includes 70 rooms containing valuable masterpieces.
The summer season at Coredo offers many sport and relax opportunities: several easy paths reach Coredo and Tavòn artificial lakes (where one can go fishing), the Sanctuary of St. Romedio and the pastures at Predaia; mountain bike tours, golf, horse-riding, angling are just some of the activities offered by this beautiful valley, a paradise for visitors in summer. During the summer season tourists, both adults and kids, can choose among a wide range of leasure activities, organized by a staff of experienced animators. The entertainment programme includes many shows and feasts.
In winter, both young and adult skiers can have fun going for downhill and cross-country skiing or sledging on the Predaia Platea - it just takes a few minutes by car to get there.
