Fiera di Primiero
Fiera di Primiero is an old hamlet located where the Val Cismon meets the Val Canali and the basin starts to descent towards Mezzano and Imer. The name Fiera, which means fair or market - in German Markt, comes from the tradition of the market which was held in this village in the past.
Core of the Primiero area, in the past, Fiera was marked by a history made of mines and wrought iron. In fact, in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries the silver, copper and iron mines truly affected costumes and daily life of this territory. Along the main road (the Constrada) you can observe mullioned windows with two lights, portals and railings.
Above a small hill rises Palazzo delle Miniere, which also hosts the Ethnographic Museum. Certainly noteworthy is also the small Church of Saint Martin, a precious Roman jewel dated back to the eleventh century and currently restored.
