Flavon
Flavon is a quiet village of the Val di Non valley featuring two architectural jewels: the Parish of the Nativity of San Giovanni Battista and the Flavon Castle.
This old imperial fief, lying on an ancient Roman road that once connected the village to the Adige Valley, boasts a couple of wonderful examples of Middle Age architecture. The first is the imposing Nativity Church, dating back to 1248 and rebuilt in the XVI century, with the charming bell tower in Gothic style and frescoes by the Baschenis brothers, renowned itinerant painters from Bergamo.
The second ancient building is Flavon Castle, the ruins of which are hidden by the forest. Flavon is located near the main tourist resorts of the valley, and is a good starting point for interesting walks and hikes.
