Molveno

Characterized by a temperate alpine climate and lapped by the waters of the homonymous lake, the small town Molveno was praised during the last century for the beauty of its landscape. It lies at the foot of the Brenta and Paganella Dolomites and is bordered by the National Park of Adamello-Brenta.

The lake formed about 3,000 years ago in consequence of a great landslide and was for a long time an exclusive destination of the European nobility; nowadays the town is a secure mountain resort suitable for everybody, offering a peaceful, relaxing environment.

A walk along its lanes will no doubt plunge you into a magical atmosphere: the small church of San Vigilio, Tagliacqua sawmill, the parish church of San Borromeo and Napoleon's redoubts… these are only some of the various curiosities that will catch the tourist's eye.

Numerous sport facilities are present in the area, and various activities can be undertaken. The lake represents one of the most immediate attractions of the town; on its western shores numberless sports and bathing activities are possible: windsurfing, canoeing, sailing, swimming, fishing, volleyball and tennis… you'll be spoilt for choice!!!

People fond of excursions and nature-lovers will instead have access to Dolomitic trails with lift facilities (open all summer), or accompanied by an expert alpine guide: venturing upon the most difficult ascents to reach typical alpine "rifugios" surrounded by a marvellous panorama… too strong a temptation to resist!!!
