Val di Pejo

Pejo, in the "Valéta", as the local people call the valley which wedges in the Ortles-Cevedale Alpine Group, is the most ancient tourist resort in Val di Sole.
The town council consists of the hamlets of Cogolo, Celledizzo, Cellentino and Comasine, and it represents a great natural resource both for the thermal properties of its waters and for the beauty of the Alpine environment.
Indeed the valley is characterized by green and steep meadows, interrupted by short terracing and villages whereas in the valley bottom the river Noce flows.
Pejo has been well-known for its mineral waters and for iron mines since the second half of the XV century, as many documents testify.
The Spa for health and wellness, at 1390 metres above the sea level, in the Stelvio National Park, is open both in winter and in summer for the treatment of respiratory, circulatory, rheumatic and skin diseases, and also for beauty treatments. Waters spring fresh, pure and clear from the three springs: Fonte Alpina, Antica Fonte and Nuova Fonte.
But Pejo is not only a thermal resort.
Indeed, the lovers of art can look for the little hidden secrets of the area, such as the wooden altars in Pejo, the frescoes in the church of the Saints Philip and James in Cogolo, Palace Migazzi and the little churches in Cellentino and Comasine.
Sportsmen, on the other side, have at their disposal many itineraries and routes among the Cevedale Group, the Stelvio National Park as far as the biotopoi in the Catena Rossa, or the lakes Lungo, Nero, of the Marmotte, Careser, Covel and Pian Palu'.
In winter you can practise any kind of skiing in the ski area Val di Sole, in the areas of Tonale/Presena, and Marilleva. Moreover this latest is linked to Folgarida and Madonna di Campiglio.
