Pozza di Fassa

“Zebèrchie”, from the German world “Zwerg” (dwarf, gnome) is a small man with beard and movable arms and legs, a creation of the craftsman and sculptor Albino Depaul from Pera.

The tradition says that Zebèrchie can grant his favours and protection or trouble and disfavour, depending on the respect one pays to him. This is why the inhabitants of the valley pull 5 times the string of Zebèrchie before dealing with important money matters or before demanding tasks.

Pozza is represented by a couple of horses symbolizing an imaginative character.
