Ton
Ton is surrounded by the orchards and forests of the lower Val di Non Valley. It is appreciated for its castles – in particular for Castel Thun, overlooking the valley – its churches, its villas and its peace. This is a timeless place, where you can quietly stroll along the trails. You will also find a small distillery where products can be tasted and bought.
Ton is formed by different hamlets. The most important are Toss, Vigo and Masi. The imposing and severe Castel Thun overlooks the village of Vigo. This is one of the best preserved castles in Trentino, and was partly restored. Nowadays it is still possible to visit the garden and the arcade for the canons, where some old carriages are can be admired. There are also other interesting buildings: Castel S. Pietro, with the ruins of a rare cylindrical tower, the Parish church of the Assunta with an altar–piece from the 18th century and the small church of St. Vigilius.
Those loving nature can hike along the numerous paths on the Cime di Vigo. The best way to end your day in Ton is to visit the village’s distillery, where guided visits are organized and products can be bought.
