The lake stretches on the plain of the Fedaia Pass, in the Val di Fassa valley. Partly natural and partly artificial, this expanse of water is a mirror to the Queen of the Dolomites, the Marmolada Massif.
Lake Fedaia lies in Canazei, in the Val di Fassa valley, on the mountain pass bearing the same name. Stretching at an altitude of 2030 meters, the lake comprises an artificial part, about 2 km long and closed by a dam, used to produce electric energy, and a natural part, which is only 160 m long. Its waters reflect the image of the Marmolada.
