Val di Fiemme is the ideal tourist destination for both children and adults. Enjoy hiking, sport fishing, climbing, international sports events, skiing and gourmet cuisine.
Surrounded by imposing mountain groups such as Latemar and Pale di San Martino, and included in the nature reserves Parco Naturale Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino and Parco Naturale Monte Corno, Val di Fiemme is one of the most beautiful destinations of East Trentino.
Here, in a pristine nature, you can practice a lot of outdoor activities, like trekking, mountain biking, downhill skiing, and attend to important sports events, such as the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
In the winter season the Val di Fiemme valley offers skiers no less than five ski areas where you can practice, besides downhill skiing, snowboarding, carving and cross-country skiing. And in the red fir woods you find large clearings for snow walking and snowshoeing.
Disabled can ski here too, thanks to special lift facilities and equipment.
Val di Fiemme gives a lot of attention also to small visitors, who are welcomed in ski kindergartens and in adventure parks, where they can at the same time have fun and learn while taking part to exciting entertainment programs.
In Val di Fiemme winter means also tradition, with the Matoci Carnival in Valfloriana and the Cavalese Witch Trials.
In summer this area attracts a lot of hikers, and all those who love to simply walk in the nature, who find here the famous Trekking of the Legends and can practice Nordic Walking and yoga in the Fiemme Vitality Park, to have a walk in the green of the woods and at the same time enjoy complete relaxation of body and mind.
For those who love mountain biking, the Val di Fiemme valley offers over 200 km dirt tracks and cycle paths crossing the territory and leading to tourist attractions such as the famous Forest of Violins of Paneveggio.
And then there are of course climbing walls, lakes where you can practice sport fishing, large valleys for horseback riding: Val di Fiemme can really meet everyone’s needs!
Val di Fiemme stands out also for its gourmet cuisine, and you can taste the local specialties along the Strada dei Formaggi (Cheese Route). Many are the music events, such as the Dolomiti Ski Jazz and Sounds of the Dolomites.
The trail leading to Corno Nero, the mountain rising over the village of Cavalese, is a charming itinerary taking from the village of Daiano to the top of the mountain, running along beautiful paths and dirt tracks.
The trail to Corno Nero starts in the De Gasperi square of Daiano, small village a few km away from Cavalese. From the square take the alley Scuole straight to road Colonia. Reach the football field and then take the path to Pra del Ronco.
The East Trentino Horse Trail is a wonderful route running at the feet of the Lagorai Mountain Range. Riding along this trail allows you to explore the beautiful natural environment with your equine friend.
Among charming landscapes, jagged mountain peaks, lush green forests and a pristine nature runs the East Trentino Horse Trail. Don’t miss the chance to explore with your horse this 432 km long trail divided in 9 stages and with 4 alternative routes, admiring from below the imposing mountain range of the Lagorai.
Once an Austro-Hungarian military fortress, the Dossaccio Fort rises in Predazzo on the mountain bearing the same name, at an altitude of 1838 meters, between the mountain groups of Bocche and Lagorai. It was part of the Austro-Hungarian defensive line built along the border with Italy. You can reach the fort following an easy path from Paneveggio.
The Dossaccio Fort, rising near Predazzo in the Val di Fiemme valley, was the main element of the defensive line stretching from the two valleys Val Travignolo and Valle San Pellegrino, erected to prevent invasions by the Italian army.
